**Sarasota to Host Informational Sessions on the New "Elevate Florida" Program**
SARASOTA, FL – The Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) is set to hold an informational event in Sarasota County to educate local residents about its new statewide residential mitigation program, Elevate Florida. The program is geared toward reducing the impact of natural disasters such as hurricanes and flooding by funding and facilitating various home protection projects.
The event will take place from **March 4 to March 6, 2025**, at **Colonial Oaks Park**, located at 5300 Colonial Oaks Blvd., Sarasota, FL. Residents are encouraged to drop by any time between **10 a.m. and 7 p.m. ET**. Daily educational presentations will be offered at both **noon** and **5 p.m. ET**.
During this session, property owners can learn about program eligibility requirements, the types of mitigation projects available, and get assistance with their applications on-site. Eligible projects include:
- Structure elevation,
- Mitigation reconstruction,
- Property acquisition and demolition, and
- Wind mitigation enhancements.
The program is open to legal property owners of residential properties in Florida, including single-family homes, multi-family homes, apartment buildings, manufactured and mobile homes, and condominiums.
