**Sarasota County Fire Department Hosts Open House and Blood Drive**

The Sarasota County Fire Department will hold an Open House event and blood drive tomorrow, January 18, at Station 23. The event will take place at 1930 N. Tamiami Trail, Nokomis, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The community is invited to attend the event, which highlights the fire department's commitment to safety, education, and community engagement. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet local firefighters and explore Station 23.

In partnership with SunCoast Blood Centers, a blood drive will also be held during the event. Community members are encouraged to donate blood, with an emphasis on whole blood donations. These contributions play a critical role in the department’s whole blood program, which directly saves lives during emergencies.

For those unable to attend tomorrow’s event, additional open houses and blood drives will be scheduled at other Sarasota County Fire Department stations. Visit scgov.net/fire for more information.

The event is supported by partnerships with organizations such as Safe Kids Florida Sun Coast and UF IFAS Extension, University of Florida.

Don’t miss this chance to connect with your local first responders and support lifesaving efforts through blood donation!
