**Sarasota County Fire Department to Host Open House at Station 23**

The Sarasota County Fire Department is kicking off its Open House events for 2025 on Saturday, January 18, at Station 23, located at 1930 N. Tamiami Trail, Nokomis. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free for the whole family.

Visitors will have the chance to meet local firefighters, explore fire trucks and other apparatus, and engage in a variety of educational activities. Fire safety and prevention demonstrations, hands-only CPR training, and instructions on how to use an AED will be offered.

Health and safety services will also be available at the event. SunCoast Blood Centers will host a blood donation drive, and families can take advantage of car seat safety inspections and bike helmet fittings to help keep kids safe. The event is held in partnership with organizations such as Sarasota County SAFE KIDS, Florida Sun Coast, UF IFAS Extension, and the University of Florida.

Guests are encouraged to visit the Sarasota County Fire Department’s website at **scgov.net/fire** to find dates and locations for future Open Houses at other fire stations.
