**Ms. Irene Nicola Named November SCS Cares of the Month**
The Sarasota County Schools (SCS) has announced Ms. Irene Nicola of Ashton Elementary as the SCS Cares of the Month for November 2024. Known for her welcoming presence and creative flair, Ms. Irene brings a unique touch to the school’s mornings with her extraordinary hat collection.
Each day, Ms. Irene greets students and their families with a smile and a cheerful attitude, often topped with an imaginative hat. Her selection includes everything from pirate hats to princess crowns and even dinosaur-themed headwear, ensuring that no day—and no hat—is ever the same.
Her cheerful demeanor does more than provide entertainment. Parents and staff alike have noted how Ms. Irene’s thoughtful gestures create a welcoming and inclusive environment. One parent remarked, “You never know what a kid is going through when they arrive at school. Ms. Irene is generally the first person they see, and she works daily to create meaningful connections and a sense of belonging.”
Through her consistent acts of kindness, Ms. Irene has made a lasting impact on the Ashton Elementary community. The positivity she spreads has created a ripple effect, touching the lives of students, families, and staff alike.
Sarasota County Schools encourages the community to recognize other individuals who go above and beyond. For more information or to nominate someone deserving, visit [www.sarasotacountyschools.net/scscares](http://www.sarasotacountyschools.net/scscares).
