Sarasota County emergency personnel will conduct a prescribed burn on the Carlton Reserve today, March 31, 2025. The burn is scheduled to begin after 11 a.m. Staff from the Sarasota County Fire Department and the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department Wildland Mitigation Group will work together on the project. County personnel have received authorization from the state to perform the prescribed burn, even while a burn ban is in effect. More details can be found at scgov.net/fire.
