The Sarasota County Fire Department’s whole blood program provides blood transfusions to patients suffering from severe bleeding or traumatic injuries before they arrive at the hospital. Community members are encouraged to mention the Sarasota County Fire Department program when donating whole blood at any SunCoast Blood Centers location.
