Sarasota County Fire Department is currently hiring for Firefighter/EMT and Firefighter/Paramedic positions.

The starting salary for Firefighter/EMTs is $54,088, while Firefighter/Paramedics start at $71,088. Salaries may be higher based on qualifications and experience.

Benefits offered include paid leave, post-retirement healthcare, tuition reimbursement, health and wellness programs, and medical, dental, and vision insurance. The Firefighters also participate in the Florida Retirement System (FRS).

For state licensed paramedics qualifying for the position of paramedic in charge, there is an annual incentive beginning at $17,000 starting in October 2024, which will increase to $20,000 in October 2025.
