In a recent advisory from Sarasota County Emergency Services, residents are urged to take precautions when using microwave ovens and air fryers.

If a fire occurs in a microwave oven, it is important to turn it off immediately and not to open the door until the fire is completely out.

Additionally, when using an air fryer to reheat food, it is recommended to plug the device directly into a wall outlet, avoiding the use of extension cords or power strips.

These safety measures are especially relevant during the Thanksgiving season when many are reheating leftovers.
